Becker Ready 43 models with expanded functionality

Becker is rolling out an updated series of its Ready 43 portable navigation devices. Aimed at occasional and first-time sat-nav users, they offer a compelling combination of reliable routing and outstanding ease-of-use. The two new editions – the Ready 43 Traffic V2 and the Ready 43 Talk V2 – take the key elements that made the original Becker Ready 43 series so popular and add a variety of new and expanded functionality which, depending on the model, includes time-dependent routing, enhanced 3D views, Becker’s popular OneShot Speech Dialogue System, and a Bluetooth® handsfree system. Both navigation devices will be available from retailers in October 2011. With its new Ready 43 models, Becker is building on the success of its original Ready 43 generation of sat navs and is continuing this bestselling product line into a new model year with these attractively priced units.

Both sat navs have a low-reflection 16:9-format touch screen with a 4.3"-inch diagonal that combines a generous map view with additional information in a well-organized layout. The V2 models also incorporate time-dependent routing, a major new feature. This chooses the best possible route based on the day of the week and time of day by drawing on past traffic data to avoid areas with a higher risk of traffic congestion. Loaded with maps for 19 European countries, these entry-level sat navs are also a great choice for users when vacationing abroad.

Becker Ready 43 Traffic V2 – an eye on the traffic
The Becker Ready 43 Traffic V2 is designed to deliver the optimum navigation experience. Besides offering time-dependent routing, the sat nav provides users with a 3D terrain view, points of interest, and prominent buildings. The lifelike view of the immediate surroundings helps to alert drivers in advance to approaching ascents, descents and winding sections of road, which promotes an anticipative driving style and greater safety. The 3D visuals also include prominent landmarks as an aid to orientation. 2/3 The new Becker Ready 43 Traffic V2 additionally incorporates an array of proven and established Becker functions, like Lane Assist, speed limit and speed camera warnings, and Text-to-Speech with abbreviated announcements of place and street names. The voice output has been further enhanced for greater quality. Becker’s popular BestTracks is also part of the package, providing not just an optimum route but a choice of three alternatives as well.

Becker Ready 43 Talk V2 – the cockpit communication center
The Becker Ready 43 Talk V2 expands on the entrylevel model to add more functionality that makes it the voice specialist among portable sat nav devices. Thanks to its Bluetooth® handsfree system, users can easily set up a connection between the device and their mobile phone. This lets them enter phone numbers directly on the touch screen or choose them from their contacts list. For even greater convenience and safety, the device also incorporates Becker’s OneShot Speech Dialogue System. This allows users to choose their destination with a single voice command, and the device instantly starts to prepare the route. This means drivers can set a new destination while driving, without having to take their hands off the steering wheel.

Users who register their new navigation device within 30 days of starting to use it receive a free update guarantee for the latest maps. This means users can be sure that their Becker Ready 43 Traffic V2 or Becker Ready 43 Talk V2 is fully up-to-date and includes new roads, roundabouts and residential areas.
