Calling all drivers: United Navigation will be showing its smart new Becker navigation devices at the IFA in Berlin on September 2-7, 2011. The Active 50 and Ready 50, two 5-inch models, will be available in September and offer drivers highquality satellite navigation at a competitive price point: The Becker Active 50 retails at a recommended price of EUR229.00, the Becker Ready 50 at EUR189.00.

Becker Active 50 – a smart companion for everyday use
The Becker Active 50 combines sleek black and silver metallic hardware with a brand-new user interface in the popular “aero” look and feel, plus maps for 44 European countries and intelligent, user-friendly software. The major innovation in this new series of sat nav devices is
Becker SituationScan, a feature that provides users with valuable information based on their progress along the route and their actual driving conditions. Becker SituationScan works in the background, continuously analyzing the current driving situation, and suggests alternatives if necessary:

- Exit Assistant: If a driver unexpectedly leaves the highway, Becker SituationScan immediately analyzes the decision for departure from the planned route and present proposals like restaurants and filling stations nearby.

- Detour Assistant: With a single click of a button, drivers can circumnavigate unexpected road closures or traffic events in the city as well as on highways.

- Parking Assistant: You’re approaching your destination and are looking for a parking spot? No problem: Becker SituationScan has already found suitable parking places for you. 2/3 The sat nav also incorporates a new breed of HQ TMC® receiver featuring a flexible antenna solution, fast channel switching, and rapid retrieval of new traffic messages. Its high-sensitivity tuner and flexible antenna solution, combined with SUPERTUNE® technology from Avanteq, make sure traffic information is updated as fast as possible. In addition, Becker Active 50 owners can use Becker OneShot Speech Dialogue System to enter destinations with a voice commands instead of by hand. The practical Bluetooth® handsfree System and Becker EasyClick Active Holder further enhance ease of use to ensure a relaxed driving experience.

Becker Ready 50 – reliability and ease of use
The Becker Ready 50 is the ideal choice for satellite navigation newbies and occasional sat nav users who insist on quality equipment. Like its big brother, the Ready 50 has a display with a 12.7cm diagonal and includes maps for 44 countries as well as Becker’s innovative SituationScan feature. The black/mocha-colored device also packs in field-proven functions like text-to-speech, a 3D Terrain View complete with 3D Landmarks, and a Lane Assist complete with 3D Junction View. In addition, the Becker Ready 50 incorporates Time-dependent Routing as a standard feature. This uses accumulated historical traffic data for optimal route guidance. The data is based on speed measurements collected over several years and is implemented directly into routing calculations. Thereby spots of high risk for traffic jams during a certain time of the day can be avoided.
