Becker introduces the Transit 50 for trucks, coaches and campers
The navigation specialist United Navigation is broadening its successful Transit range with the new premium model Becker Transit 50, thereby delivering optimised features for the particular demands of trucks, coaches and campers. Large, heavy vehicles present specific challenges that the new Becker Transit 50, with its optimised route guidance based on individually configurable vehicle profiles and special navigation maps, overcomes with ease. With the integrated Becker SituationScan feature, the driver will be additionally supported – dependent on route progress and driving situation – with intelligent real-time assistance features and provided with a host of additional information. The Becker Transit 50 is available from retail outlets and the Becker Online Shop from mid-December 2011 at an RRP of EUR 299.

Optimised route guidance with Truck & Camper Navigation Pro
With countless bridges, narrow streets and low-emission zones, drivers of large vehicles such as trucks, coaches and campers face very particular challenges on European roads. With the Becker Transit 50’s optimised route guidance, Truck & Camper Navigation Pro, drivers always arrive at their destination safely and comfortably. With this in mind, the navigation device makes it possible to set up profiles tailored to the vehicle type and to input information such as physical dimensions, loaded cargo, weight and any trailers. During the journey, too, up-to-date thoroughfare restrictions and access bans will be routinely provided via the Truck & Camper Alerts feature and immediately presented to the driver in the form of clearly laid-out warning messages, guaranteeing a safe journey at all times without enforced stops. Furthermore, the new premium model offers an innovative bundle of real-time driver assistance features with Becker SituationScan, providing drivers with possible alternatives at the convenient touch of a button. The driver receives immediate assistance in the case of sudden changes in the driving situation such as unexpected delays on the chosen route 2/3 or an unplanned diversion from the motorway. In addition, the 3D display of landscape, elevation profiles and prominent buildings is highly practical in terms of anticipatory driving. Alongside optimal route guidance, this feature ensures that the driver is provided with vital information at all times.

Ideal for professional deployment within fleet operations
The Transit 50 is the ideal solution even for use in large fleets such as forwarding companies or tour coach operators. Therefore, not only individual vehicle profiles can be set up but also various driver profiles, greatly simplifying the operation of a navigation device used by various drivers and their vehicles. On top of this, the Transit 50 is ready for operation with professional fleet management systems ex-works thanks to easily accessible serial interfaces and appropriate software adaptions.

Practical handling and intelligent features
As the new premium model in the Transit range, the Becker Transit 50 impresses with an extra-large 5" (12.7 cm) low-reflection touch-screen display in 16:9 format, thus ensuring comfortable operation and a detailed view of the current route. Destination inputs can be conveniently achieved with a single voice command via BECKER OneShot Speech Dialogue System. In addition, the inbuilt Bluetooth® hands-free system ensures that telephone calls can be made safely while driving. With route guidance according to the day of the week and time of day, circumnavigating rush hour each day is no longer a problem. And if traffic delays should occur along the route, the extremely sensitive HQ TMC® Traffic Report Receiver informs the driver promptly by text message via Text-to-Speech voice announcements and suggests a useful alternative route if desired. With the innovative Becker EasyClick Active Holder, the navigation device can be installed or removed with a simple click. The charging cable and TMC antenna are combined into a single cable connected directly to your active car holder rather than the navigation device, meaning you no longer have to bother with attaching and detaching the cable. Furthermore, the HR Active Car Cradle is available as an accessory for simplifying integration into the vehicle which, thanks to the standardised HR connector, is compatible with many vehicle-specific pre-installed adapters and additionally facilitates sound output via the vehicle’s audio system.

Ideally equipped for a comfortable drive
The Becker Transit 50 is delivered with up-to-date map content for 44 European countries – of which 29 provide Truck & Camper-specific street information. With the Becker 3/3 Content Manager Software, the user can configure their navigation device conveniently on their computer or add further features and up-to-date map content.
